i dont mind going to see shows. in fact, im going to see indigo girls on feb 6 and down on feb 15. yay.

holy crap

so i woke up saturday at like 8am-ish.... i finally got to bed on sunday at about midnight. boy was i tired. cha fucking ching. two more aflacs and then im done. today i bought things for me. 5 movies and a new computer accessory. i deserved it. i got my rental car taday. the girl who picked me up was cute. i think she loved me. its okay though. i didnt ask her out.

football, but not quite

so yesterday i get to see bo jackson talk and give him a wireless mic, today my show is on the astroturf of the georgia dome. home of the atlanta falcons. why is my weekend drowning in football? the astroturf is awesome though, you can sit on your knees and they wont get wet or dirty. its amazing. they have fake dirt. awesome. i want some on my floors.

you know how you get all super happy when you dig into your coat pocket and pull out a long forgotten 5 dollar bill? well today i went to pull out my external hard drive and it seems as if i had crammed 200 bucks in 20s in there to hide it from me on tour. neat. 2 months after getting off the road i find a sizable chunk of cash. now if only i didnt have to wake up tomorrow and do another aflac.....

so when i get bored i like to go to WikiHow. its a brilliant website that tells you how to do everything possible. actually its just really stupid. stuuuupiiid. but entertaining. i like to just click the link in the top right for random articles. you should do it.

first hell weekend over, second one starts tomorrow. lets not talk about it.

a funny thing happened...

so we get done the first day of competition and we are headed to our rooms at the hotel. there are about 239083086 cheerleaders trying to go up at once so its kinda just stand and wait for elevators. while waiting i ran into my cousin. she cheers. i talked to her a minute or so and then went back to waiting for the elevator. finally, me and my pals decided we would just have a drink until the crowd died down. i walked by my cousin again (who was standing next to a chaperon) and said "forget it, im gonna go have a beer". while walking away we heard the chaperon ask "was he talking to you". funny, someone thought i was hitting on my cousin. im glad she explained cus i dont think i could have taken him.

8 more hours of competition and then load out. home tomorrow. so glad.

so here i am, third day in charlotte. competitions start this evening. i can wait. we have a good young crew. none of the bosses are here. very relaxed. still dont want to be here doing this. i get home monday afternoon. from what i understand there is a package from fedex there that will make my day. awesome. i miss the xbox. this time i only get two days at home before flying down to atlanta. i cant wait til this month is over and i get a few more weeks off. i love weeks off.

tomorrow i go back to work. READY! GO! cheering. neat. a few weeks ends of that and then another couple of weeks off. life isnt that bad.

my door on my car gave out due to the "accident". wont even close. stupid. soon enough it will all be better. eventually i will have a chance to get to the body shop and work it out. that happened when i was out picking up diet coke for riana. she came to hang out in va for the weekend. in an attempt to be able to play my xbox AND have company we played a lot of guitar hero and i got into a new game. its called carcassone. pretty addictive. you build little castles and roads. the point is, i still got to play video games. im honestly not sure how im going to get along this weekend without the little white xbox of entertainment heaven.

Tech News

ive rewatched season 3 of Lost this week. im preparing for the return. season 4 comes at the end of this month. its so overly far fetched. if it doesnt come together and the end of the series im gonna punch someone. for reals. punch.

so bad news in dvd land. warner bros studios decided to go exclusive with blu-ray. that leaves only two major studios dealing in hddvd. they wont last. they will swap. damn it. i should have held out for like three months. now i will not only have to buy a bluray player i will have to make sure its a combo. and they are damned pricey. crap. im so impatient.

after three months to the day, i finally got my hair cut. it is such an awesome feeling. that is all.

this is what i did. my pals anne and dave and i were out wednesday at our favourite bar, the taphouse, and we came up with a hairbrained idea to ditch out on richmond for the weekend and do a small tour of four of PAs most prominent brewpubs. we were out of town my afternoon friday. by friday night i was having quality steak and even better beer at stoudts. after that we headed a little west for victory. crap atmosphere... amazing beer. sleep.

the next day was a long drive from one side of the state to the other. the church brew works. an old church turned into a brewery. check out the pictures on the website. its a really neat place. i bought a bottle of 8 year old beer there. i cant wait to try it. from there we went to Penn Brewing and met the nicest bartender ever. Tyson. we drank and drank and i sang traditional irish songs at the top of my lungs with along with the very loud band. thanks to the wonder of session beers dave was able to drive back to the hotel. we stayed up a little more and danced to michael jackson and watched braveheart. snooooore. long drive back to richmond the next day. wow that was fun and i cant wait to try it again in another state.

happy new year.

new years eve show. we meet at the warehouse at 9am on Dec31. Shit. I've been going to bed at like 6am everyday and sleeping all freaking day. What do i do? tylenol pm. 4 of em. i passed THE FUCK out. slept from 11pm til about 7am. perfect, im back on a normal sleep pattern.

get in the truck and ride up to DC. load in, set up, soundcheck the wonderful Pat McGee Band. i love em, so much. there is just a wonderful element of home i find in being on the side of the stage while they play. after them, naughty by nature. not so much like home. in fact, too loud and very bad. whatever. after it all ended and we finally got back to richmond, it was 7am. I got home and went to bed about 8am and slept til 6pm. yay, fucked up sleep pattern again.

all in all, another year changing over while i watch a gadrillion drunk people have fun and i'm just twisting knobs and wrapping cables. and after the year with hanson, this kinda just reminded me that local sound company guys are real men and touring techs are just kinda all diva'ed out.
