and the whirlwind stops

so yeah, i know its been a long time.... my computer has been turned off for over a week. so many things happened. i will summarize.

as i mentioned, i picked up some dates with a brand new band that has some members who have all been around a while. I would be lying if i said i wasnt a little impressed with myself... changing James Iha's (smashing pumpkins/a perfect circle) guitar strings and helping load in Bun E. Carlos' (cheap trick) drums.

we had a few days of rehearsal and then did sort of a small private show. i felt very lucky to see a band like that play their first show... from on stage no less. right after that was over i hopped in a car and got complimentary seats at Billy Joel and Elton John. the lady next to me said her tickets were over 200 bucks... mine said 0 on it. we were this close...

that show was awesome. i mean, one of the best shows i have ever seen. and to see it for free from just a couple of rows back made it even better. i was floored by the performance and producion. i would suggest you go see them.

the next day was our first official show. a small club gig here in tulsa. it went off well. drink, sleep, wake up, fly, austin tx for south by southwest. holy christ. 4 shows in 2 days. i missed the chances to see janes addiction and metallica. i didnt care. i met juliette lewis, saw todd barry and the landlord from flight of the conchords. saw the heavy set guy from my name is earl. even ran into a couple of hansons. who knew. i saw lisa hannigans show. as much as i like her, she was boring.

a lot happened in 9 days, even walked 5 miles due to a temper tantrum. its over, im home. my legs hurt and i am very tired... look for me on direct tv.

Due to the temper tantrum, I might suggest you start strapping a skateboard to your ass...one more thing...be sure your outburst start at the top of a hill....Sometimes a nice long walk gives us time to think.....hope you did...love Dad

Our Dad is so funny. I like the skateboard idea...or maybe try those stupid shoes with built in skates. Sorry you missed Jane's Addiction..that might have been cool.
