I'm a jammin' dude and I need a jammin' way to get all my jammin' thoughts and happenings out. I don't care about punctuation or spelling or much other than hot dogs and beer and xbox. Thanks.

new diggs
so the news is that we are moving. me and the partner are packing up and heading out west... but only a couple of miles. her lease was up at the end of this month. my apartment was meant for one person... i talked to my landlord about leaving early without hard feelings and we found a place that from the way i read jennifer, we both love.
its certainly an upgrade. when i moved here i had no time to look for places and no way to look for places (other than the internet) so i just kinda had to go with what landlord would deal with an out of state tenant coming in. now we will have washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher, central air, river view, gym, two bedroom and bathrooms, private balcony, HUGE closets (quite a few too) and access to three pools and a bike/jogging path. we also opted for stainless steel appliances. there were a few things that i got that i wanted, and she that she did. i like first floor... nope. i like carpet.... yep. i dont like fireplaces... so i dont have one.
now i just have to find enough boxes to get all packed up before the 23rd of this month. already reserved the trailer. funny, three days ago we were just gonna live here. now were moving in just over a week. FAST!

sometimes you have to celebrate.
even when things in the world arent the best they could be or have been, you have to relax and remember that its just life and you should be enjoying it. work is slowing down and i spent way way too much on a vehicle repair but life is still good. jennifer and i went out to dave and busters for dinner and a little bit of gaming. we earned enough tickets to get a shot glass, coffee mug, sweet tarts and some jelly beans. nothing special, but it was nice to not eat at home or sit at our computers.
next was best buy. i just wanted a cd. much to my surprise she strolled towards the video game section. she found a game she wanted and i saw an employee. "you dont by any chance have any wii-fits do you". he said they had just gotten a shipment of 100 but they were still in boxes in the back. if we waited 20 minutes he may be able to have one out to us. i didnt even have to ask permission to wait around. i think she wanted it as much as i did. we got it.
once we were home it was clear away the coffee table, push back the futon and have at it. we hula-hooped, skied, did yoga, step aerobics.... she looked up and said "im glad we got this." me too. it was a lot of freaking fun. we got up and did it again first thing today. i imagine tomorrow wont be much different. lets see how long it keeps our interest....

a little good news.
in the wake of a financial assault against me and my car... a little breather... but only after a quick stab.
right after a week of spending roughly 1000 bucks on my car, i got a letter in the mail from the city of richmond letting me know i owe 78 bucks for personal property taxes on the same vehicle. i called them, informed them of my move and now, instead of paying 78 bucks, they are refunding me 35. they said it was DMVs fault.

Had never missed a flight....
So I get to my gig, far away from home. I have like 20 guitars to work on in one day. As the day passes it becomes very obvious that I will not be able to finish all of them in the time I have left before my 6:40pm flight. By request, I stay another night. I feel like it went like this “Can you stay another day? Would it mess up anything if you took the same flight tomorrow?”. From here on out, everything is my fault.
I stay. I get a confirmation email for my new flight home. I don’t even look at it. It was suggested that I was taking the same flight, just a day later. I take that as gospel. Funny, since I am the guy who doesn’t believe the gospel. I get to the airport for my new 6:40pm flight. I scan my card at the kiosk. It says that I was to depart at like 3. Yay. I should have read that email. The next flight back home is 6:30am. I could have called someone at the studio to come get me but then they would have had to bring me back. No one should have to wake up at like 3:30am (the studio isn’t close) to deal with my lack of attention to travel detail. I decide to find a hotel room for the evening.
Once I was checked in I had to take care of a huge new issue. Underwear. Since I was going to be gone yet another extra day (two longer than planned) I was officially under packed. I used my phone and found a Wal-mart .8 miles from my hotel. I walked there and found a pair of socks, XBOX 360 boxers, and t-shirt with the town name on it. I also got some insoles…. for the walk back. On the way back to the hotel, I got some beer and some McDonald’s.
I spent about an hour watching my beautiful girlfriend play Mario Kart with her friend over Skype and then passed out while watching new episodes of Flight of the Conchords.
I am now (actually, was. I typed this while suffering a lay over and posted when I got home) in the Dallas airport and am fighting to keep from passing out. Bad coffee from Chili’s and very uncomfortable airport seats help.

today i restrung 19 guitars. they are all very nice guitars. i had to be extra careful with some of them. one was a guitar not belonging to the dude i am working for... and it was kinda jacked up. i spent some time on it before figuring out it was too jacked to fix with the tools i have... or anyone has.
i got to see, but not mix on... though i get to play drums through a legendary console. some really historic records were made on this thing.
last night i slept in a room made totally of blue. i did not become sad.
i am here one extra day the initial projected time. thats ok. i am having fun, i am learning things about my craft and also learning how much i have learned since i started. as iffy as i sometimes feel, as insecure as i make myself.... i really am turning into a pretty decent guitar tech who can figure crap out and make things happen. good night.

headspins and cardboard.
they were wrong about the car. turns out it was something much more expensive. after a couple of days with the new battery, the service 4x4 light came back on. 800 dollars later it runs like a champ. thanks mom and mema.
i cant remember why, who, or what brought it up, but last week the movie breakin' was injected into the forefront of my thoughts. knowing that jennifer is a fan of really stupid movies (camp rock, teen witch) and the 80's i quickly jumped on netflix and put it in the list. breakin' 2 was available instantly. we watched it twice last week. did i really love that movie? breakin' came a couple of days later in the mail. it was nowhere near as entertaining as breakin 2. it was nice to finally pick out a movie that she seemed to think was worth the 90 minutes it took watch.
my little sister is supposed to have a kid in like 5 weeks. crazy.
