be honest

so about a week ago i went into a target to get a video game, some earplugs, foot spray and a flat screen computer monitor. i found most of it. Borderlands, no plugs, the foot spray, and a 19 inch widescreen monitor. i went to the checkout desk. he rang me up. 103 bucks. just the monitor was supposed to be 110. so i said something to him about it. to make a long story short, after trying to be honest over and over and tell the clerk that what was going on wasnt right, he basically said he didnt care that he charged me only 70 cents for the monitor and told me to take the deal and run. so i did. now there is a 19 inch monitor mounted in my bunk so that i can play awesome quality xbox in there all the time and not worry about bugging people on the bus with my games. all for 70 cents. awesome.

about a day ago i got a haircut. ive been avoiding it for about 4 months. i also hadnt shaven in about 7 weeks. less than a week ago i shaved. yesterday i cut my hair really short. all the people are tour are a little shocked. im a stranger now. but anyway... i got it cut in the lobby of a hilton in jackson mississippi. not such a good idea. its pretty militant looking. also, the lady who cut it used multiple handfuls of hair gel. i just let her go at it. once it was done i went up to the hotel room and rinsed it all out. paste lady, paste. sheesh. but hey, i should have known better.

that same day off was pretty slow and productive all at the same time. i woke up late, went to bed after many hours of video games. in between i did a lot of shopping. got THE haircut, got some radio shack crap, hardware to make a tambourine for a friend, a couple new-to-me cheap PSP games and a costume for halloween. i had late night wendys and drank some new beer. it was nice to finally have a day off. we had been going pretty hard. early tv and late shows for three days in a row. thats hard stuff. we deserved to just do nothing at all.

yes, i know i know i know. this tiny entry is long overdue. with the addition of facebook and twitter in my life i find that i dont need or want to sit down and chronicle as much as i used to. its all there, an update here and there to keep my loved ones posted. trust me, if youre important, you get the updates.

so again, i am promoting google. this time its google voice. on this tour, the tour manager, machine.... he and i are kinda tech geeks and we both like google. so we are trying it out. its really neat. right now i am making it so that when he calls me, he gets his own personalized voicemail. neato. now i am just waiting for my wave invite. in other google related news... the first google phone for sprint came out today. those dicks dont wanna give me a discount. its cheaper for me to leave sprint and start with t-mobile than it is to buy the google phone from sprint. so i may be swapping to t-mobile to get their google phone. yay. thats news to me.

heh, who needs to go out?

went to bed last nite at midnight. right after the show. no beer no nothing. slept for just under 11 hours. got my hotel key and went right from the bus to the hotel room. from that point on it was just me and the walls... and the xbox.... and the pizza i ordered.... and more sleep. a couple more cat naps and 620 gamer points later, i feel okay.

i missed my sisters wedding. pretty much. i heard it all. they popped a phone in the best mans pocket and i got to listen in. i heard it all. from the walking down the aisle to the "i present to you mr and mrs..." i cried. partly cus i was happy and partly cus i felt like a jackass. i got to see all the pictures today. my lovely sister amy sent them all to me, even before they were touched up. kinda got choked up again. oh well, im a wuss.

tomorrow is back to the grind. early morning and late night. im not gonna even look and see how many shows we have in a row. im just not gonna.

ouch

my fingers hurt. on pete tour i changed max two sets of strings a day. my fingers never really got abused. three shows in with hanson and i feel like there are 1000 tiny blisters under the skin of my finger tips. i cant wait til they toughen up. with minimum of four sets a day, it wont take long.

three shows. the first was a fly date. now we are on a bus and moving in no logical order across the country. for 6 weeks. these days have been hard. very. early early morning press. full day of show. since we are still early in and with a brand new piano rig, i am using my breaks to get all the kinks worked out. i still need to put the chains in the banner and drum skirt. i still need to rewire the xlr loom. i still need to make the midi work properly. i still need to do a lot. the days are long enough, the breaks arent. i havent even played xbox yet.

im so tired.
